It's a very exciting day at the Marshall Marks household. Jack is so proud that he has become the "father" to sextuplets. Yes, that's right, between yesterday and today all six wren eggs have hatched. When Jack last checked the nest yesterday afternoon there was only one, very bald, very small (obviously a preemie) baby chick...but today all six are there and thriving. The mother and father wren are nearby and none to happy that we are peaking in on the new arrivals. As you can see from the photos, the mother bird sometimes flies out of the bird house when Jack opens the top. They feed the baby birds mostly insects. Congratulations Jack... another successful year of bird hatchings!
