Two things happened this week that have resulted in a post that will include a large number of pictures. The first is that I got a new camera, and the second is that we went to Song Bird Trail first thing in the morning after a fresh snow. When you put together my love of birds with my love of photography, well, sorry if it's picture after picture of Chickadees. It cannot be helped. I adore them! And as Jack said, "I'm a chick magnet". We were on the trail for only about a half an hour and he had over 200 birds land on his hand. He counted! Molly decided she didn't really want to feed the birds (she was not at all happy to be up at 7:30 AM on the first day of vacation)! So, like a good mother, I put birdseed on the top of her hat. The birds happily fed off her head.
Jack with one of the over 200 birds that landed on his glove.
Black-capped Chickadee's are so tame here.
Timothy has success!
Molly's head works great as a bird feeder.
Don't fight birdies, plenty of bird seed.
Beautiful male Cardinal.
Mommy even takes a minute to feed the birds.
The twins couldn't believe how hungry the Chickadees were.
Tufted Titmouse sitting on a branch.
And even on the home feeder we have beautiful birds:
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Male Downy Woodpecker
One of my favorite things to do!! Great shots with your new camera too!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Molly...why do birds have to eat at 7:30am?
