Trick or Treat

Since there isn't Trick or Treating out in the country where we live, we head on over to our friends house for dinner and the use of their neighborhood on Halloween.

Jack dressed up as Uncle Sam for the Monster Bash at school and for Trick or Treating.  For the past week he frequently wore just the beard around the house because, well, because it just looked good I guess!
Timothy was a Ninja for the Monster Bash but a week later changed his mind and decided to be a New York Giants fan for Halloween.  Fortunately he owns a lot of warm Giant's clothes.  Mommy drew the logo on his face and he was good to go!  Gotta love these easy peasy costumes.
Molly Dolly has gotten a lot of wear out of the Perry the Platypus/Agent P costume this year.  She wore it to star in her video.  She wore this version of it to school on Freaky Friday and also to the Barn Party.
On Halloween she was happy to add a glow stick and of course a warm winter coat under the costume since it was snowing!
Ready to head out.  The mission this year was to bring Mom back a Mallo Cup!  Oh, of course, they could get candy for themselves too...but don't bother coming back to the nice warm house unless someone had a Mallo Cup in their Trick or Treat bags!
Nine kids ready to take on the neighborhood!  Trick or Treat smell my feet...oh no wait...smell the shoe that fell off of Ally and landed in the swamp water.  But that's another story.  JUST BRING BACK A MALLO CUP!!!
Back with the "goods" and ready to make trades.  This is the best part of the evening: the wheeling, the dealing, and of course the gorging on candy!  And thanks Jack W. for my Mallo Cup.  A successful Halloween!

Punkin' Heads!

Beautiful Pumpkins from G. Paul's Farm.
Everybody carves their own this year.
Tim scoops out the goop.
Molly has lots of seeds for baking.
Getting all the pumpkin guts off the seeds is the worst.

Almost ready to carve the faces.
Rob and Molly work side by side.

They look like they get along so well, and yet...
Another picture with Molly's arm in front.

Jack and Daddy get creative.
Tim draws the face first, then carves it out.
Mommy decides to use two pumpkins this year.
The kitchen makes a great work space.

This takes serious concentration!

Posing with our Pumpkins.  Yes Rusty has one, and no it isn't carved.
Yum!  The first batch is ready.

Boo! Scary Pumpkins!

No one ever trick or treats at our house, but we decorate anyway!

You Can Call Him Agent P!

The dining room table was cleared. The sewing machine was dusted off. And work began on a Halloween Costume.  The task: make a Perry the Platypus costume.  So I did!

There wasn't a Platypus pattern (go figure) so I just used this.
Molly is an adult size so lots and lots of fabric.

Which meant lots of pins and cutting.
In order to make something that looks like this!

Our semi-aquatic egg laying mammal of action!

With a beaver tail and a bill...

Some of the details.

Agent P's Theme Song which is just as good as the original version!

Family Pictures

Every fall we go to Mendon Ponds Park for Family Pictures.  This year was a picture perfect day and my kids, and even the dog, were super about spending an hour and a half posing while Mom snapped over 150 photos!  We got some great shots!
